The story of this house goes back to 1948, when Manuel Fialho and his sons began serving snacks and some traditional food dishes from the Alentejo, cooking simple but careful. In the 60's worked as a house of grass and a decade after the offer was extended through the collection of traditional recipes, such as Real Favada game, served by King Carlos to his guests after the hunt in Vila Viçosa, Soup BeldroegasThe Migas-Gatas or Pennyroyal Cod. The 80 confirmed the improved work of the owners, who until now have been personally dedicated to the restaurant.

line Catherin Alentejo has great tradicion in the food and wine quality. This restaurant is an exemple of that. It is not cheap at all but it is so good. I will always want to start the meal over and over again :). The deco is regional too.
line Anne I chose meat, my husband fish, and we were both very happy. The service quite attentive and professional. The crowd was a mix of locals and tourists, which is always reassuring. An excellent Portugese wine rounded out a lovely dinner. This was somewhat more "elegant " than some other restaurants we ate at in Portugal, which was also a nice change of pace.
line Brandon I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone i know.
line Alyssa Simply fantastic portuguese cuisine. Interesting typical decor and ambience. Must try the conventual desserts
line Cristina Machado Excelente!
